The insert for main box stores all the miniatures, tiles and components very nicely in removable trays. This makes the game setup take only 5-10 minutes which is very nice! Miniature storage is pretty secure, although if you don't glue the monsters to their bases, gravity will pull the bigger ones off like dark young and shoggoth. We love Mansions of Madness enough to have both editions and all expansions, but setting it up and taking it down and organizing it and finding what you need is a PITA. So I did what any reasonable person would do and spent a Friday afternoon super gluing all the monsters to their bases and organizing all of the pieces into baggies of various sizes and figured I'd share it with the internet. 1st Edition Box- map(grouped by expansion), play field pieces, dice, cards, basically whatever you can fit. We definitely find it difficult, but not unreasonably. I think we win around 25% of the time.
Our general strategy is summed up as 'keep your eye on the prize', which in short means don't waste time looking at every single thing and exploring every single room. If you hear a banging in the next room, go straight to that room. If the journal says that the body is in the garden THEN GO STRAIGHT TO THE GARDEN. Yeah, you'll miss some things, but if your strategy is finding every single thing on the map then you'll lose the game every single time.
Stop clicking on every icon when you think you are equipped. This is the biggest tip when trying to actually win. You can't wait around making sure you have every item on the board.

The game tracks rounds.the game is not well balanced for two players without a small house ruling.Also, make sure you are doing 'within range' correctly. 3 spaces, not through doors. If you are not 'in range' then often monsters just move, and they dont cause a horror check. This has made the game much easier when we finally played it correctly.
