I'll be honest, i have not historically liked JRPG's or turn based combat. I have tried several Final Fantasies and disliked all of them. I was absolutely uninterested in POT. I downloaded the demo after the direct because I was getting a little full of my rabbids decided to check it out. Not 30 minutes into Primrose's story and i was sold. The game is beautiful, yeah, but it's also not at all what I thought it would be.The characters felt real, their motivations and relationships made sense, etc.
It was just good writing. I felt determined to actually avenge Prim's father and that was what was pushing me through the game. My absolute favorite games are ones where the story grips me so hard I feel like i have to keep playing because I'm in it, and this succeeded in that in record time. Just wanted to air my thoughts, but anyway, devs, please release more demos.EDIT: Zoinks a lot of people here.
Anyway, yeah i agree combat is a bit weak but the story intrigued me enough to balance it out. I thought the writing (for primrose at least) was very good, I felt pretty in touch with her situation and like i had a stake in it. Fifa online 4 pc. Voice acting was IMO great, better than i thought it should be.
Game needs some polish (enemy health bars would be nice) but still a definite buy for me. Couldn't agree more, I love the characters so far and it's everything I hoped it would be.
