I currently have neither game, but after seeing that Windlands 2 is today's Daily Deal, took a look at both of them. W2 looks more extensive than W1, but most of the reviews I saw for it said that W1 is actually a better game. Aquaria beach resort. Thinking I should actually start with that one today (it's also the less expensive option of the two for a game I've never played - $10 vs $27) and that way if I really like it, can pick up W2 while it's still the Daily Deal before the end of the day. Although after a quick check of the sales history, maybe not a huge rush to get that, it looks like when it goes on sale, it's ALWAYS 10% off, at $26.99.NOT going to buy the Windlands bundle, have already have done the math, and with W1 being on sale for $9.99 and W2 being the Daily Deal at $26.99, the bundle actually currently costs more.Thoughts/comments/recommendations from anyone who has played both?
Is the second one worth more than double the sale price of the first one?. Last day of june free download free. I like 2 way better, YMMVI found the higher focus on platforming in W1 was actually harder for movement mastery than W2 which focuses a lot more on swinging (there are still some platforming sections).W1 is much more 'explore and try to find the hidden objectives' as the entirety of the game.W2 has that, but it's just a side task you have no compulsion to do unless you want to find them (not used for progression or anything) The main game itself is much more directed with little question where you need to go.The combat that W2 adds makes it feel WAY more fun. For me anyways. I actually would like to have a combat focused way of playing (like, just jump to and play any boss fight, and maybe have a bunch of random enemies spawns added as an extra difficulty option for normal game or something).W2 also adds MP, but you'll need a friend. Public lobbies are hit'n'miss, as is the case with most VR games. You can use VRLFG or the Windlands Discord to try and find a friend if you need one.
They both have distinct styles and flavors, but I think Windlands 2 is the better game.As you said, W2 is more extensive, there are more modes, more to do. They included combat for the first time which works remarkably well. Swinging from tree to tree getting some altitude on an enemy and unleashing a volley of arrows on your way down before catching the next swing is incredibly satisfying. The motion and grapple placements are also improved over W1, at least in the first two areas. I only have two hours into the game and am maybe about halfway through the normal mode so I can't say how the other areas are like.
The racing and collection challenges are lots of fun.I had a great time in W1 as well, but the motion felt more sluggish less in control. Grapple placement wasn't that great and the areas relied significantly more on platform jumping which was very frustrating. I like W2.The swinging mechanics of the first game feel much more kinetic. It also allowed you to press a button to stop reeling in, giving you more control. In W2 this is an option that is toggled in menu, but can't do both at once. There is more content in W2. The combat is pretty good, but combat isn't what draws me to Windlands.Ultimately the draw for me is the traversal mechanics of swinging and wall jumping which I think W1 did better. If you have your VR legs, you'll likely enjoy either.
